Today’s Solar Eclipse

Headed out to Fish Creek Hill for this afternoon’s/evening’s eclipse. I love this area with the layered mountains toward the west which can make for some pretty awesome sunsets. Toward the end of the day, the haze from the fires up north drifted slowly across the horizon in front of the eclipse providing some of the most spectacular lighting I’ve ever seen. This provided a great opportunity to capture it in fairly good detail which sent the sunset over the top IMHO. Nothing like being in the right place at the right time.

How Do You Like My Shades?

Along with the searing summer heat here in the Sonoran Desert come the dragonflies decked out in full regalia.

Damselfy Mischief

Headed out to our Riparian this past Saturday evening to do some work with my macro lens. This tiny damselfly was quite cooperative, permitting me to get up fairly close. With its head less than 1/2 the size of my little fingernail, the depth of field and clarity can be challenging, especially if they are perched on a reed in moving water. I loved the seemingly mischievous grin it offered.
